Meet the people behind The White Horse

We’re very proud to have a brilliant team here at The White Horse, every one of us brought together by a shared passion for quality, warm service and of course exceptional British cuisine. With everything we do we ensure a relaxed and friendly experience whilst maintaining a high standard of professional service. When we’re not working hard in the kitchen or tending to our luxurious rooms, we enjoy nothing better than chatting to our guests so please feel free to say hello.


We’re all about locally sourced produce and love to champion all our local producers and suppliers. They are the hunters and gathers, the farmers and fishermen that are the backbone of The White Horse and our fantastic seasonal menu, so we thought we’d introduce you to some of our closest friends.

When we’re not picking herbs from our own gardens, we receive our fruit and veg from the highly respected Munneries. Another family-run business, this independent supplier has been growing pristine high quality produce since 1919 and are uncompromising on quality. From Jersey Royal potatoes to wild asparagus or blackberries,¬†you can be sure you’re enjoying the very finest English produce.

Funtington Farm
This family-run farm has been providing great quality meat for over fifty years. Fed and grown here in the South Downs, our Funtington Farm pork belly is about as fresh as you can get.

Nick’s eggs
All of our eggs are farm fresh but none more so than the ones we receive from our friend Nick from nearby Hallgate Farm. Twice a week he delivers the freshest free range eggs possible that taste and look fantastic on the plate.
